The SAFE concept

SCIENTIFIC-BASED

The course aims to cover the essential science behind the materials/products to be employed. This includes evidence-based information on bacteriology (biofilms) and antiseptics as well as efficacy, longevity and safety of fillers and toxins.

ANATOMY ESSENTIALS

The anatomical layering concept is highlighted covering the important BIG SIX regions (forehead, temple, tear trough, cheek, lips& perioral, jawline & neck). Danger zones are discussed with location and course of relevant nerves, arteries and mimetic muscles. Volume considerations of different facial compartments are discussed with strategies on balancing techniques of voluminization and superficial filling with muscle relaxation with toxins.

FILLER

Updates include science and efficacy of SAFE dermal fillers and toxins. Experts will demonstrate the most clinically relevant methods for each of the following : choice of filler for each area, how to differentiate between different fillers, combination with PRP, threads, etc. Special attention will be given to specific acute and late complications and their treatment as well as dealing with previous “filled” zones.

EDUCATION

The course covers basic, intermediate and advanced injection techniques on different areas. Other aspects of treatment will be as well covered such as pain control, treatment room set-up and safety, patient comfort and dealing with anxiety and difficult patients.
